The Trumbull Police Department's Traffic Division is responsible for a wide range of traffic-related law enforcement functions. These include dignitary and funeral escorts, focused speed enforcement, and selective traffic initiatives such as distracted driving campaigns and the "Click It or Ticket" program. The Division, which includes the Motorcycle Unit, also plays an active role in community events, including the Memorial Day Parade and Trumbull Day.
In addition, the Traffic Division is tasked with investigating serious motor vehicle collisions involving significant injuries or fatalities. The Division currently has five certified collision reconstructionists who have completed an intensive six-week certification course. These officers utilize advanced laser measurement technology to conduct thorough investigations.
Additional responsibilities include conducting traffic studies for upcoming construction projects, performing child car seat inspections and installations, and reviewing and approving block party permit requests.
The Division values input from residents and uses community feedback to help identify areas requiring increased traffic enforcement. If you are experiencing traffic-related issues, such as speeding, please contact the Trumbull Police Traffic Division at 203-261-3665, selecting prompt 3.
