Pursuant to the general authority of section 7-148 of the Connecticut General Statutes, and the specific authority of section 22a-73(c) of the Connecticut General Statutes, it is hereby resolved that, to preserve and promote the health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the Town of Trumbull, it is in the common interest to enact reasonable regulations pertaining to the reduction, control and or prevention of noise so as to promote a general environment free from excessive noise and vibration.
It shall be unlawful for any person to emit or cause to be emitted any noise beyond the boundaries of his/her premises in excess of the noise levels established in these regulations. From Monday through Saturday from the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Sundays from the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., decibels cannot exceed 55dBA.
During the overnight hours starting at 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Monday through Saturday and 9:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, decibels cannot exceed 45dBA.
Violators may be served with an infraction, issued a misdemeanor summons or placed under arrest in conformity with the State of Connecticut General Statutes 53a-181 , 53a-181 a, and 53a-182, which sections relate generally to breach of peace, creating a public disturbance, and disorderly conduct.
