Tax Information

THE OCTOBER INSTALLMENT OF PROPERTY TAXES IS DUE OCTOBER 1, 2023  

The October installment of property taxes on the Grand List of 2022 is due and payable on October 1, 2023.  If payment is not made by November 1, 2023, the installment will become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1 ½% per month from the installment due date.   Minimum interest charge is $2.00.

 THE OCTOBER INSTALLMENT OF SEWER ASSESSMENT BILLING IS DUE OCTOBER 1, 2023                

The October installment of the Sewer Assessment billing is due and payable on October 1, 2023.  If payment is not made by November 1, 2023, the installment will become delinquent and subject to interest at the rate of 1-1/2% per month from the installment due date.  Minimum interest charge is $5.00.  Sewer assessments are currently not available to view or pay online. 

Failure to receive your bill does not exempt you from payment of tax or penalty.   Taxes may be paid by mail or online at http://www.trumbull-ct.gov/285/Online-Tax-InquiryPayment-System.  The postmark will be used to determine if a payment was made on time.  Be sure that your check is made out correctly, or it will be returned.   Payments may also be made at the office of the Tax Collector in the Town Hall, Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.  Sewer Assessment payments may be made at the Tax Collector’s office or by mail only.

Sewer assessments are unable to be paid online until further notice.

The postmark will be used to determine if a payment was mailed on time.  Be sure that your check is made out correctly, or it will be returned.  Payments may be made at the office of the Tax Collector in the Town Hall, Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.    

Tax payments can be made online by credit card or check.  Cash or check only accepted in the office.  If you choose to pay online, your payment will be reflected and updated in 48 hours on the online system.  

Sewer assessments are unable to be paid online until further notice.

If mailing your tax payment, please make your check payable to "Trumbull Tax Collector" and mail to Trumbull Town Hall, Tax Collector, 5866 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611. Please note that if you use the mail, the U.S. postmark will be honored as the date of payment, regardless of when the payment is processed.

For the assessment of October 1, 2022, the Mill Rate is 34.15 for Real Estate and Personal Property.  Motor Vehicle Mill Rate is 32.46.

We accept payments online by e-check or credit / debit cards. 

We do not accept payments over the phone.

Important Notice from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)

If you have received a tax bill from a Town that you did not reside in or garage a vehicle in as of October 1, 2022, contact the Tax Assessor, 203-452-5016, to request a transfer to the correct Town/City or residency as of October 1, 2022.

Purpose

The Tax Collector’s Office provides billing and collection of real estate, personal property, and motor vehicle taxes. We also bill and collect sewer assessments and sewer usage.

During the months of July and January you may experience lines at Town Hall. You should expect to wait in line if you are coming during this period. Lines are longest at lunchtime and as the last day to pay approaches. When paying in person, please have all your bills with you for faster service.
