Renters' Rebate
State law provides a reimbursement program for Connecticut renters who are elderly or totally disables, and whose incomes do not exceed certain limits. Application period from April 1, 2021 to October 1, 2021. The age requirement for applicants: 65years of age or 100% disabled (Age 18 and over) as of December 2020. Applicant must meet one year state residency requirement during 2020. Annual income guidelines cannot exceed for a single person: $37,600.00 and married couple: $45,800.00. Medicare Savings Program
You may be eligible to have your Medicare Part B paid for you. The allowable income for individuals is up to $261 per month and $3,572 a month for couples. Income includes Social Security, pensions, annuities, 401K, IRA's, dividends, interest, rental income, etc. To apply, or inquire, please call (203) 452-5198.
Friendly Phone Call Program
Volunteer to make phone calls to isolated members of the community. Would you like to reach out to someone who is isolated once or twice a week to keep them company? Why not make a new friend! Students are welcome to participate and earn community service hours. If you know a senior that would like to receive friendly calls please have them call the Senior Center at (203) 452-5199 or email Ashley Grace at agrace@trumbull-ct.gov. - Check on all your neighbors. Leave them a note or give them call. Help pick up their prescriptions or groceries. Please keep in mind social distancing!
- Collect shelf stable food items or monetary donations for the food pantry: Trumbull Food Pantry Needs List.
- Get your kids involved! Local nursing homes and assisted living facilities have given us the okay to deliver drawings and cards to our isolated seniors. Drawings and letters of encouragement would make their day.
