Adopt-A-Ramp Program
About the Program
The purpose of the Adopt-A-Ramp Program is to allow civic and private organizations the opportunity to contribute to the beautification of the Town of Trumbull while affording an opportunity to grow awareness for their organization. An organization may “sponsor” a small section of land to erect a sign meeting the Town or State’s specifications with the primary message being “Welcome to Trumbull” of “Town of Trumbull” and the secondary message being a credit to the sponsoring organization.
Organizations interested in sponsoring an adopt-a-ramp area, can contact the Town of Trumbull Economic and Community Development Department at econdev@trumbull-ct.gov for a list of currently available locations.
Program Requirements
There are separate requirements for signage in a State right of way (i.e. highway on/off ramps) versus a Town right of way. In both instances, there are maintenance policies, planting guidelines, and specific signage specifications that must be followed. Certificates of Insurance are required in both instances. See the application packages below for further details.
A completed permit application and insurance form (copies attached to application) must be filed with and approved by the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation. If significant changes to the submitted plan are required, a revised application and plan must be resubmitted for approval.

If significant changes to the submitted plan are required, a revised application and plan must be resubmitted for approval. Permits must be renewed annually with the Town.
Permits issued for adopt-a-ramp participants are revocable immediately upon written notification to the permittee by the Town of Trumbull. Failure to maintain the adopted area may result in use of the space being revoked.
