Annual Trumbull Business Appreciation Breakfast

The Trumbull Economic & Community Development Commission hosts an annual Business Appreciation Breakfast celebrating the successes of our local business community, highlighting future opportunities, and creating a regional networking opportunity.

Our 2025 Breakfast included a keynote presentation from John S. Traynor of Cambridge Trust Wealth Management on Building Connecticut’s Economy which you can view here. 

Our 2024 Breakfast included a State of the State keynote presentation from Daniel H O’Keefe, Commissioner of CT DECD which you can view here. 

In 2023, First Selectman Tesoro highlighted the growth and expansion of business in Trumbull. Dan Wantrobski captivated the audience with a discussion of the economy and markets. He offered his insights on where we have been, where we are currently, and where things are going. His comments were clear, understandable, and encouraging. Trumbull Restaurant Week

Trumbull Restaurant Week, originally launched in 2019, is an annual event highlighting local eateries as part of the Trumbull Celebrates Local effort. During the event, local restaurants offer an array of specials including prix fixe menus, buy-get-one options, free items with purchase, and other discounts. Trumbull Restaurant Week 2025 ran from Friday, October 3rd through Friday, October 10th and was a great success! Business Webinar: Contract Ready, A Checklist for Doing Business with the State

On November 12, 2025, the Economic & Community Development Department partnered with CT Department of Administrative Services to offer a webinar for businesses looking to learn about doing business with the State of CT. The webinar discussed the benefits of contracting with the state, how to prepare your business for contracting and start the process, and provided an overview of the Small Business Enterprise Certification program. This webinar is applicable to small and large businesses across a wide array of industries. Business Workshop: Launch Your Brand – Maximizing Your Brand’s Impact Through Social Media

The Trumbull Economic & Community Development Department teamed up with Fairfield County SCORE to offer a business workshop on September 11, 2025 at the Trumbull Library - Launch Your Brand: Maximizing Your Brand’s Impact Through Social Media. Presenter, Ramon Peralta of Peralta Design shared insights on social media best practices, increasing audience engagement, nurturing brand loyalty, and generating sales through branding. Business Resource Fair

The Trumbull Economic & Community Development Department partnered with CT SBA to offer a FREE Business Resource Fair at the Trumbull Library on May 20, 2025. The event offered an opportunity to join entrepreneurial ecosystem providers for help starting, growing, and expanding a small business. Insights were shared on free and low-cost resources that are available to all CT entrepreneurs to help with business planning, access to capital and much more.

Event exhibitors included the U.S. Small Business Administration, Trumbull Economic & Community Development Department, Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC), CT Dept. of Economic & Community Development, CT Office of the State Comptroller/MYCT Savings, CT Apex Accelerator, CT Department of Administrative Services, CT Secretary of the State’s Office, CT Paid Leave, U.S. Senator Blumenthal’s Office, U.S. Senator Murphy’s Office, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Fairfield County SCORE. Tax Planning for Small Businesses

The Town of Trumbull in partnership with SCORE offered a free webinar on tax planning for small businesses via Zoom Videoconference on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The session provided an overview on how to be effective in your tax planning and the considerations you need to be aware of when filing taxes as a small business. Financial Management & Cost Containment for Small Businesses

The Trumbull Economic & Community Development Department in partnership with SCORE offered a FREE workshop on financial management and cost containment for small businesses in changing times at the Trumbull Library on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Presenter and SCORE mentor, Peter Tallian, discussed elements of managing the finances of your business, the importance of managing cash flow, examples of mitigating unexpected costs, and identifying key financial tools for keeping you focused on how your business is doing financially at any point in time. Cyber Security Readiness for Small Businesses: Are You Prepared?

The Town of Trumbull, in collaboration with several local organizations, assembled a team of experts to provide important insights on awareness and best practices to protect your business and employees. Grow Your Home-Based Business

The Town of Trumbull, in collaboration with the Trumbull Economic & Community Development Commission, The Bridgeport Regional Business Council, CT Small Business Development Center, Webster Bank, & Newtown Savings Bank, assembled a team of experts to provide key insights on business technical assistance, grants and financing, marketing, and social media tips. The event also served as a networking opportunity with time dedicated to business elevator speeches.

Staffing Resource Event

The Town of Trumbull, in collaboration with over a dozen organizations, offered a virtual staffing resource event to educate local, small businesses about organizations and agencies providing access to talent, hiring tips, and online resources to reach more job candidates. Many of these resources are free to businesses.
