About the Department

The Economic and Community Development Department is charged with managing the economic and community development process and activities of the Town. The Economic and Community Development Director, appointed by the First Selectman is responsible for overseeing the Planning & Zoning Department, Building Department, and the Fire Marshal's OfficeThe Director also provides reports to the Economic and Community Development Commission, as well as other land use and regulatory agencies as directed by the First Selectman.

The Economic & Community Development department works closely with the Trumbull Chamber of Commerce and Bridgeport Regional Business Council to support our local businesses, organize resource events, and facilitate economic and community development programing. 

Economic & Community Development Commission

The Trumbull Economic and Community Development Commission is the Town’s liaison to the commercial-industrial business sector. It is there mission to service and strengthen the Town’s economic base in a manner consistent with current innovations while maintaining the Town’s historic vision of growth.
