Open Burn Permits

Open burning is allowed only when issued a permit by the Fire Marshal's Office. Permits can be obtained between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Once a burn permit has been applied for, a member of the Fire Marshal's Office will set up a time to go and inspect the site where the burning will take place and go over rules and regulations. Burning must take place in an open area where there is an adequate water supply available.

Only brush, no greater than 3 inches in diameter, may be burned. The burning of grass, leaves, construction material, trash or other debris is prohibited. Open burning will not be allowed when the Air Quality Index is rated Unhealthy or Very Unhealthy or when the Forest Fire Danger Index is rated High or greater.
