Personal Property Declaration Filing Notice
Notice is hereby given to all owners of Personal Property located in the Town of Trumbull on October 1, 2025 that they are required to declare such property to the Assessor on or before November 3, 2025 pursuant to the Connecticut General Statutes 12-41, 12-42, and 12-43.
Personal Property includes the following: unregistered motor vehicles, snowmobiles and ATV’s used for business purposes, farm tools and equipment, horses and ponies, mechanics tools, machinery and equipment, leased furniture, fixtures and equipment, all other goods, chattels, and effects used in the operation of a business.
Declarations are available at the Assessor’s Office and on the Assessor’s website under Personal Property. The statutory deadline for filing a personal property declaration is November 3, 2025. Per Connecticut General Statute 12-41, non-compliance for filing a Declaration of Personal Property will result in an estimate of property value and application of a penalty of twenty-five (25) %.
Mailed Declarations of Personal Property must be postmarked on or before November 3, 2025. Metered mail and emailed Declarations will not be accepted as on-time.
