Suicide Loss Support Group

When: 2nd Wednesday of the month, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM

Where: Virtual via Zoom

Led by counselors from the Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center, the Suicide Loss Support Group is open to anyone aged 18 and over who have lost a loved one to suicide. The group is a safe place to talk openly about suicide loss with trained counselors as well as people who share similar experiences.

Trumbull Congregational Church graciously provides space for the group to meet, however the group is not affiliated with any particular religious or spiritual beliefs.

Grief and Loss Support Group

When: 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM

Where: Trumbull Senior Center, 23 Priscilla Place

Facilitated by Cornelia Morris (LADC, PhD). The group is open to anyone who is grieving a loss, including but not limited to the death of a loved one, and loss of a job or home.

Coffee and Learn with Dr. Morris

When: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Where: Trumbull Senior Center, 23 Priscilla Place 

Led by Cornelia Morris (LADC,PhD), the group is open to seniors for coffee and refreshments and open discussion to learn about health, mental health and related topics.

Smoking Cessation Program for Adults

When: Mondays, 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM

Where: Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center, 121 Old Mine Road

Led by certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist and psychologist Cornelia Morris, the Smoking Cessation Program is open to adults aged 18 and over. The program consists of five 90-minute group sessions and one individual follow-up session. Participants will learn about nicotine triggers and how to avoid them, the dangers of nicotine use, and how to become a successful non-user.

The cost is $300 - less than one pack of cigarettes per day for the duration of the program. A check or money order payable to the Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center is required prior to the start of the first group session.

Please note that while the program is open to nonresidents, if the group begins to near capacity, Trumbull residents will be given priority. Nonresidents will be placed on a waiting list and notified if a space in the group is available.

When: Tuesdays, 3:00 – 4:00 PM

When: 1st & 4th Monday of each month 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Where: Mary J. Sherlach Counseling Center 121 Old Mine Road.

Open to teens enrolled in the Trumbull School District. Make new friends, find support, and have fun together.

Open to teens enrolled in the Trumbull School District, Learn strategies to de-stress and calm yourself that can help you successfully navigate challenging circumstances. Learn skills to improve how you cope and how you interact with others.

Open Discussion Group with Dr. Cornelia Morris and Jennifer Gillis

When: First Friday of each month 2:00 PM

Where: Community Room Stern Village, 200 Hedgehog Road

The group is open to all Stern Village residents for coffee and refreshments and open discussion to learn about health, mental health and related topics.
