The Board of Trustees of the Trumbull Library System recognizes the need and value of volunteers as an available resource to further its goals in providing quality library service.
The Board believes that this collaborative effort can be beneficial to both the library and the individual volunteer. Benefits include fostering greater public interest in the library, encouraging personal growth for the volunteer, and enhancing, expanding, and upgrading library service.
Volunteers generally provide support services to paid staff; work on special projects. Volunteers are expected to act in accordance with library policies and to reflect positive customer service attitudes to all library patrons.
At the present time the Library is accepting volunteers to help with our in-library book sales, and the “Adopt a Shelf” program. Please direct inquires for volunteer opportunities to Circulation Supervisor, Megan Norrell at 203-452-5129 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Teen volunteer program is open to middle and high school students who have a desire to volunteer their time and considerable energy to helping out the Trumbull Library System. Teens ages 12 - 18 may join the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) in order to earn hours. Unfortunately, on-going/weekly volunteer services are not currently available. We are currently no longer taking applications. Check back in the future for new opportunities.
Teen Advisory Group
Meets once a month on a Friday from 4:00pm - 4:45pm, check the Teen calendar for each month’s specific date. Volunteers get an hour of service for each meeting. By signing up for the TAG you will also receive emails whenever additional help is needed during special programs at the library, assisting during summer reading in the children’s department, or other special projects and slots will be filled on a first response basis.
